There are two major problems with Danish Crucifix’s debut album:
1. The mastering of the album is awful
2. The toms sound like hollow, hard balloons.
The inspirational sources for Crucifix are somewhere in the vicinity of Morbid Angel and Deicide, however, with less originality than their peers.
Only with the two tracks Violence in the Flesh and The Cleansing Storm, Crucifix manage to get through to me with a break in the flow of standard death metal with hints of black and the introduction of a really captivating riff that oozes of Morbid Angel.
Approved but not one that will change the world.
