German band Cripper got together back in 2005. After a 6-track demo they canned their debut full-length 'Freak Inside' in 2007. At first the record was distributed by themselves and is now released in an extended version with one bonus and a video-clip for the song "Shortcut".

The first band that entered my mind when I heard: "Shortcut" was Grip Inc, in my opinion they sound a lot like them. Cripper plays a kind of US-style of thrash with German thrash influences. Female singer Britta Görtz sounds like a younger sister of Angela Gossow, her balls are almost as big. I still get flabbergasted, hearing a woman with such a throat. All the songs have catchy riffs and are well structured and written.

But, after half the record I get carried away from the music, I loose a little bit of interest. I think it is because the songs don't differ a lot from each other. Still they can't be trapped playing a bad song, but it gets just a little too much in the end. However I can imagine that a lot of you thrash fans don't have this problem and think I'm getting potty and fucking ants. If you are into Grip Inc. and Reckless Tide, you will dig Cripper as well.
