This album entitled ’Rotting Paradise’ is the second full-length album from Swedish Death Metal

band COLDWORKER. – I’m not familiar with their debut album ‘The Contaminated Void’ (2006)

so I can’t compare it to their brand new one.

COLDWORKER is led by founding NASUM player Anders Jakobson (drums) and we are talking serious Death Metal here on ’Rotting Paradise’. The promo-CD I’m listening to at the moment contains 12 tracks and each track storms along at a huge speed but the music never seems out of control. Track by track, the listeners head is pulverised by the fast but still brutal riffs and the fast drumming. Well... they do slow down now and then... (maybe to catch their breath?)... but speed and brutality seems to be the main word here.

The songs sounds very much the same after the first listen, but after maybe 3 to 5 listens the

tracks comes alive and suddenly ’Rotting Paradise’ is not just an average experience. However even though that you find countless breaks and interesting melody lines and riffs this album is still “only” a good one. I miss that certain thing that makes me go... WOW... and I’m sure that some of you out there will call it “just another Death Metal release” but then again I could be wrong, ‘cause this album certainly has its moments.

Well... don't let this album pass you by unnoticed if you’re into bands like NASUM, CANNIBAL
