Burden of Life were founded in the summer of 2003, but are seriously an active band since the winter of 2005. Their self-released debut-album 'Burden of Life' was released early 2007. The sound on that record was not quite good, this one however is soundwise a big step forward.

The music has not changed a lot, they still play a kind of melodic (death) metal with a lot of keyboard parts and harsh vocals. I must honestly confess that I wasn't that inspired after the first spin. But after a few spins more, some of the songs grew and I started to like the band more and more. Not that they have invented something new, but some atmospheric melodies and nice arranged songs are worth listening to. Songs I like most are: "Veracity", "Beloved Sanctuary" and "The Endless March". Last mentioned has also clean vocals and is the most variable track, a more progressive song with lots of melody.

Of course you hear that Children of Bodom is a big inspiration, but they introduce enough own elements, so the talk of a copy doesn't arise. In general they are a little more melodic, the keyboards are mixed more in front of the music and they have more serene parts in their music. Give these German guys a chance and check them out.
