The second album from the US metalcore (more metal than core) band Bleed the Sky from Orange County was recorded by Fear Factory guitarist Christian Olde Wolbers. Their debut 'Paradigm in Entropy' (2005) got great reviews and lots of publicity in Europe. The band switched from label Nuclear Blast to Massacre and is now in for the kill.

The record has a tight and heavy production and sounds perfect. The music is a mixture of Killswitch Engage, Pantera (some riffs), Meshuggah (tempo changes), Machine head (grooves) and Textures (some screaming vocals remind me of their singer). The music of Bleed the Sky has also some clean singing parts and that again makes the heavy parts sound even heavier. To mention songs that are superior to another would be unfair. All the songs are first class, they groove, they move, they are tight, they are heavy, they have a head and a tail and the vocals are brutal and aggressive. What more do you need?

The one song that makes you choke perhaps is "Occams Razor". A very soft song with clean singing, in my opinion the weakest one, but who am I? Fans of Meshuggah, Textures, Machine Head and Killswitch Engage will love this one, other metal fans should take a listen too. This band could be the next big thing...
