I’m not sure how on earth this band has managed to escape my attention, but funny enough, they have. I’m talking about a band called BLAKE from Finland and they have just launched their 4th album. ‘Sa7urnus’ is the title of this groovy release.
Inspired of bands like Black Sabbath and Danzig (among others) BLAKE plays what some prefer to call Stoner Rock and they are doing one hell of a job here. ‘Sa7urnus’ is packed with catchy yet heavy riffs and sing-a-long choruses that stick like glue. But don’t worry it’s not sappy in any way. It’s just pure heavy rock music the way it’s meant to be played. It’s hard for to name any standout tracks, because I like ‘em all, but songs like; “Spirit of Cain”, “More I live”, "Let me be Dead" and “Come Alive” have really rocked my world.
What you have to do now is to check this band out, buy ‘Sa7urnus’, put it on and crank the volume up and you will discover in no time that “groove” is the main word here. No doubt, this four-headed group has created a convincing album, which should appeal to all fans of this genre.
