It’s not every day that I get the chance to review an album from a band that are hailing from Puerto Rico but let’s see what we got here.

AZMAVETH are a Christian black metal band and this album called ‘Strong as Death’ should be their debut full-length album. We get 13 songs… 6 “real” songs, a intro, an outro, and 5 interludes.

Even though we only get 6 “real” tracks I’m not disappointed. The songs and the music, that reminds me of bands like STORMLORD and DIMMU BORGIR, will be creeping up on you in no time. The songs are packed with memorable guitar runs and nice tempo changes and overall a really good drive. The vocals shifts between black metal shrieks and growls, and believe it or not, the vocal melody-lines are quite catchy.

Between the “real” tracks we get 5 interludes. Small pieces of flamenco and classical guitar that you either love or hate. I love the small pieces. It gives ‘Strong as Death’ the right amount of variation and a progressive touch.

AZMAVETH is a very positive surprise and this album definitely deserves your attention.

No more words needed. Buy.
