If you want to make a stir in the big pond called progressive metal with your first album you need to bring something special to the table, something extraordinary. There is a ton of really, really great progressive metal bands with the technical ability to impress and play innovative music.

Appearance of Nothing is sadly one of those technical apt bands that have it all; the skills to draw comparisons with the best in the genre, the well constructed and played songs to make you stop up and listen and still they do not do enough to make a stir...

Each year, only a few new bands manage impress the very selective progressive metal fans, and Appearance of Nothing will most likely not be one of those in 2008. That said this is still a very solid debut album from a band with all the tools to go places, and a good start in a cut-throat world, where only the strongest survives.
