Alberto Rigoni
Something Different
Rating
Style: Bass based progr/funky/fusion rock
Release date: February 15th 2008

Albert Rigoni is an Italian bass player, for insiders known from progressive metallers Twinspirits. If you are into instrumental tracks dominated by bass guitar, this is perhaps your thing. There is vocals on 2 of the tracks.

To me this is all too soft, this has for most parts nothing to do with metal. The bass parts are nice, but the music is a kind of progressive funky fusion. The title rock is almost to heavy for it. Sometimes the tracks get a little more exciting because of the guitar soli. My favourite track is "Roller Coaster", which happens to be the heaviest one. At one moment the name Joe Satriani came to mind, but that was just for a moment.

If you are into heavy music, leave it where it is, if you are into nice listening music based on bass, add 2 or 3 points to the rating and listen to it first, but for me...next one.
