A Metalcombo from Israel is not a regular thing you come across every day. For me this is also the first one that fits in the power metal genre. The band was founded in 2005, released one single titled "Lead the Wake" in 2006 and here is their first EP. Their self-produced EP has been mastered by Mikka Jusilla at Finnvox Studios.

After an intro which gives you the idea that it is a techno band, "Reveal Yourself" reveals itself. The metal they play is rather fast, you hear influences from several well known European bands in the genre. They combine some neoclassical parts with Stratovarius, Helloween and Cellador influences. In the songs "Atonement, Hear My Call" and "Divine Cycle" the influences from Dragonforce can not be denied. Because of this fast parts, the songs get too hasty and sometimes a bit chaotic. Vocalist Yochai Davidoff can not compete with most of the European power metal singers, therefore his voice is not good enough (yet). He is only an average singer, but fit the music, so it doesn't give you the creeps.

I can understand that the band has a fan-base in their home country, but whether they can compete with the European colleagues or not is the question. I think their song writing isn't that bad, but their songs make me nervous and jumpy. It sometimes sounds like people with ADHD on XTC. They must learn to provide more in measured quantities, that gives more serenity in the songs and makes them better. The band is on the right way, but they still have a long way to go. Not a bad effort though.
