I’m still quite fond of Aborted’s 2007 release ’Slaughter & Apparatus: A Methodical Overture’ so I was quite eager to get my hands on their latest release ‘Strychnine.213’. But... I must admit that I’m left disappointed this time. Not that I totally dislike the album, but it’s only a bit above average in my humble opinion.

Aborted mix Death Metal with modern elements and when I listen to ‘Strychnine.213’ I find myself somewhere between heaven and hell. When they press the pedal to the metal and play fast and furious Death Metal I enjoy their music... but sadly they almost go Metal-core now and then. They shifts from growls to aggressive vocals, from pure Death Metal to Modern Thrash/Death/Core and I quickly lose interest.

Well... this album has its moments and it wins a little with every spin but I’m still left disappointed so take a listen before you buy.
