Michelle Darkness from End of Green is ready to conquer the world with this splendid solo album entitled “Brand New Drug”. I really didn’t see this one coming. This is absolutely one of the best Gothic Rock albums I have ever heard. This album is packed with catchy riffs and catchy choruses and the vocal delivery from Michelle Darkness is also very, very good. His dark and masculine voice is all over this album... and his voice suits the music fantastic.

The album is interesting and varied all the way and I was hooked right away when the first track “My Sweet” blasted out of my speakers. Well... I must admit that I had almost no expectations to this album, but DAMN... this is great music! Catchy as hell but certainly not wimpy in any way. The title track is up next... and once again we are treated with a first class Gothic Rock song with a chorus that most bands would kill for. I could name every single one of the 12 tracks of this promo-CD but I don’t see the point in doing that. I would probably bore you to tears, right?

But I will name a few more... on the Joy Division cover “Love Will Tear us Apart” the winner of the Finish TV-show “Idols” Hanna Pakarinen are lending her voice to this perfect duet. But my favourite track of this album could very well be “Pet Semetary”... excellent track... however every track on “Brand New Drug” is excellent in my humble opinion.

The production is great and this album is a must-have for every lover of Gothic Rock music. So go and get it when it’s released October 26th 2007.

Good Buy :)
