I find myself lost for words at the moment, because I’m sitting here with Mael Mordha’s brand new release and even after maybe 20 listens… I still don’t know what to think about it.

Mael Mordha is an Irish Metal band blending Doom Metal with Gaelic music. This brand new release is entitled “Gealtacht Mael Mordha” and deals with the thoughts that ran through King Mael Mórdha’s head in the lead-up to, and during the battle up to the moment of his death.

This CD last for about 44 minutes but to me it seems like it goes on forever. The music is heavy and it should be…it is Doom Metal… and the songs are really not that bad, I just find them only a little above average. But I still find myself somewhere between heaven and hell because I like it… but the songs are not that memorable and then again… this album wins a little with every spin.

Well… I know that this review is confusing, but I am confused. I think you have to make up your own mind about this album. This is Doom Metal with an Irish Folk music edge, spiced with a good production and a great cover artwork.

The release date in Germany is March 16th 2007 and the international release date is March 19th 2007, so go and check it out when this album hit the stores.

The end of a very confusing review.
