Coming in from the pouring rain is this brand new band: The LoveCrave from Italy is not just another gothic rock band in the vein of Lacuna Coil, Evanescence or HIM (with female vocals). No, their hybrid between gothic, wave, metal and electro pop is well balanced and has more depth than meets the eye.

The comparison to the first two bands is off course due to the amazing vocals from lead vocalist Francesca Chiara - not that far from a young Stevie Nicks, but musical they do have a lot more in common with HIM. If you choose to embark on a journey into the universe of Francesca and her compatriots then you'll come across 9 very strong compositions from the hands and minds of The LoveCrave along with a good cover-version of Duran Duran's 'The Chauffeur', which they have given a gentle injection of their own style.

Between the rainy parts - the intro and outro - are an album filled with timeless gothic rock, telling us the story about a vampire. The album is simply mesmerising with songs based around a very strong melody, with memorable hook-lines and awesome chorus'. I love all of the songs and sees this as a complete concept with 10 parts, each one being just the right shape for the complete puzzle.

The complete package includes a 3-panel digipack with a good manga inspired cover artwork, a 24 pages booklet with a short story by Francesca Chiara, encompassing all 10 songs on the album. And with the right amount of luck and hard work from the band, management and record company this album possesses everything needed to one day to be considered a genre highlight.

The LoveCrave has captured me, and I can only recommend that you at least check this masterful piece of gothic rock out...

Nice one!
