Excalion’s second CD comes to show us once again that these Finns can compose songs that many fans of melodic Heavy / Power metal can appreciate.

Some line-up changes were made since the debut album ‘Primal Exhale’ bassist Timo Sahlberg and guitarist Kimmo Hänninen left the band and guitarist Vesa Nupponen joined the band while ‘Primal Exhale’ guitarist changed to bass (yeah I know it all sounds like a ski jump competition).

Excalion’s music is a cool mixture of Scandinavian and German style Power metal. The use of keyboards doesn’t really bother me, as they’re incorporated excellently into the songs. They have an overall powerful approach, ranging from mid-paced over up-tempo to fast and with enough variety to remain interesting.

A highly recommended CD for fans of Stratovarius and Nocturnal Rites looking for something slightly different and fresh.

Recommended tracks: “I Failed you”, “Losing Time” & “Soaking Ground”.
