Emerald Sun
Escape from Twilight
Rating
Style: Melodic Power Metal
Release date: March 23rd 2007

Greek power metal outfit Emerald Sun was formed in Thessaloniki in 1998, they released two demos in 2003 and 2004 called ‘Sword of Light’ and ‘High in the Sky’.

The ‘Escape from Twilight’ album was first released by Encore Recordings in 2006 back then it was called ‘The Story Begins’, this new version of the album has been remixed by R.D. Liapakiss (Mystic Prophecy, Jack Starr & David Chastain) and contains one additional track called “The Traveller”.

Emerald Sun has delivered an album packed with catchy tunes that takes you on a trip back to the late Eighties when Helloween released the first two ‘Keeper of the Seven Keys’ albums, actually Emerald Sun’s singer Jimmy Santrazami sounds a lot like Michael Kiske and ‘Escape from Twilight’ can easily compete with most of the albums Helloween has released since ‘Keeper of the Seven Keys Part II’.

So if you’re into the old Helloween stuff or Heavenly this album should be in your CD rack.

Recommended tracks; “High in the Sky”, “H.M.” & “The Story Begins”.
