Almost 2 years after their critically acclaimed 'A Night in the Gutter', Swedish melodic metallers Dogpound returns with their third album simply entitled: 'III'. They have recorded fourteen little melodic gems under the guidance of Peter Tägtgren and the result is a nice slap in the face of great and catchy melodic metal.

Dogpound - Henrik "Hea" Andersson (Vocals), Micke Dahlqvist (Guitars), Figge Danielsson (Bass) and Calle "Tuka" Boman (Drums) - writes hook laden infectious melodic metal tunes with soaring choruses. They span from ballad-like material to hard and heavy songs, Henrik's voice is smooth in the softer areas and raw and a bit aggressive in the harder areas...

Their influences are varied and they have let them float nicely into the songs, from classic rock (Queen) to more classic melodic metal (Extreme, White Lion, Dangerous Toys) and almost everything in between... but don't worry, each song has its own identity.

'III' is a good party rock album, which I am sure, will please many genre fans, because it offers a diverse selection of fine melodic metal songs, which have the intensity and depth to stand out in a crowd.

Good buy!
