Death/Thrash Metal band Dauntless from Finland was formed back in 1991 and after 7 demos (5 under the name Dauntless) it’s finally time for their debut album called “Execute the Facts”.

“Execute the Facts” contains some of their most wanted songs from the demo-times with a few unheard ones… and you better beware, because this album is filled with aggressive and fast Death/Thrash Metal that easily can give you a deserved kick in the butt… at least from time to time.

I find Dauntless at best when the put the pedal to the metal and goes berserk. The guitars kick your butt while Ari Nieminen delivers both screaming, aggressive and growls that should get your blood pumping. Tracks like “Ruins”, “Flow of Fortune”, “Blindfolded Solutions” and “Four Walls United” are to put it simple, stunning.

Sadly Dauntless can’t maintain the high level on every single track and a few of them are not above average. And then we have the production… it could have been a little more powerful. It’s too weak and thin for this kind of music. More bass, please.

But then again a quite good full-length debut album from Dauntless… and if you’ve got to have your Death/Thrash so hard you end up picking little bits of broken glass out of your forehead after a frantic head-banging session then give this band a chance.
