US heavy metal band Widow was formed back in 2000, and they have released a demo called “No Stone Unturned” in 2002. The debut album “Midnight Strikes” was released by Tribunal records in 2004.

The band members in Widow are Cristof (Lead guitar / Vocals), John E. (Guitar), Joshua (Bass), Marc Anthony (Drums) and Lili one of the best female vocalists I’ve been listening to for a long time.

It’s not easy to describe the style of music Widow is playing, they are one of the few bands with their own unique sound - the closest I can come are Iron Maiden and King Diamond Influenced US power metal with a touch of death metal.

“On Fire” is filled with killer tracks like “The Preacher’s Daughter”, “Here to stay”, “Sinderella”, “Re-Animate Her” and “I’ll bury you Alive” but there is also a couple of fillers like “Dead End” and “Family Affair”.

It’s not every day you will hold an album in your hands with eight killer tracks, so do yourself a favour and try to find this fantastic CD.

If you don’t like Widow, you just don’t like metal.

Recommended tracks: “Here to stay”, “Sinderella” & “I’ll bury you Alive”.
