I’m caught somewhere between heaven and hell when it comes to this album by The Traceelords titled “The Ali of Rock”. The Traceelords hails from Germany and this is their third album. The first two is called; “Sex, Money, Rock’ n Roll” (2001) and “Refuse to Kiss Ass” (2004).

The reason why I’m caught between the darkened depths of hell and heaven is that I have mixed feelings about this release. I find it quite uninteresting when I’m sober but I kind of like it when I’m drunk or in the right mood for this kind of music. This album rocks! But some of the songs sucks!

We get 14 songs with everything from Pop, Pop/Rock, Rock, Party Rock, to tracks that very easily could have been found on the latest Green Day album. A few of the songs are just plain ridiculous but most of them are catchy and quite funny.

Take for an example “Mr. Marple” a track with accordions and sounds like the music my mother is listening to, but the catchy melody brings a smile to my face when I’m in the mood for this kind of stuff or when I’m drunk. Funny little song.

Give it listen and decide for yourself.
