Guitar virtuoso Taz Taylor released his debut album “Caffeine Racer” in 2004 with drummer Calvin Lakin, keyboarder Bob Miller and bassist Dirk Krause, the result was a highly acclaimed instrumental Album.

When it came time to record again, the band decided that they wanted vocals on the new album so they called Graham Bonnet (Rainbow, MSG and Alcatraz ); a new drummer called Richard Livoni was also added.

“Welcome to America ” is a journey into late 70's hard rock with influences from Rainbow, Thin Lizzy and UFO. The album holds eight tracks with vocals and two instrumentals; one of them is a cover version of Gary Moore’s “Parisienne Walkways”.

I find the album monotone and boring, but I am not a huge fan of the above-mentioned bands. I think the best song is the Gary Moore cover version.

“Welcome to America ” isn’t a masterpiece but I’m sure that fans of 70's hard rock will find it enjoyable.
