German
band Stormage was formed back in 2002 and the “Balance of
Power” album is
their debut album. “Balance
of Power“ is one of those albums where half of the tracks are
great, and the other
half is just uninspired and boring.
Tracks
like “Words”, “Sign of the Cross”, “Wargames”, “The
Green Mile” & the epic “They
Plan to be Like God” are all great tracks heavily inspired by Metal
Church - “Blessing
in Disguise” and “The Human Factor” era.
But
on tracks like “Born to Kill”, “Blood and Thunder”,
“Godless Man” & “Black Winter” it
sounds like they can’t decide on the direction of their music, so
it all sounds very messy.
If
Stormage can get their act together and follow the path of the
first tracks mentioned, the next album could be a real killer.
