In a long line of great new progressive metal bands from Sweden comes Seventh Wonder with their sophomore album "Waiting in the Wings". Their debut album "Become" from last year was a fine piece of progressive metal, but I hadn't expected something like this...

This album surpasses my expectations beyond my wildest dreams, everything is at least one or two levels bigger and better than its predecessor. The songs are all at a very high technical level, the musicianship is outstanding and this is a very mature release. Seventh Wonder has in my humble opinion created a small masterpiece in progressive metal...

The big leap forward is mostly down to Tommy and Tommy! New vocalist Tommy Karevik delivers in my book the most impressive vocal performance I've heard from a new guy since the first time I heard his fellow countryman Nils Patrik Johansson for the first time! He fit's the music perfectly and have an outstanding range. Tommy # 2 is off course Danish tech-wiz Tommy Hansen, who once more has created magic. Another brilliant mix from him, but the basics produced by Daniel Flores and the band has to be mentioned as well...

To mention them in the vein of genre giants like Dream Theater and Symphony X is still an overstatement, but they are clearly going places with this excellent album, and I am sure we'll hear a lot from them in the years to come...

Seventh Wonder has convinced me big time with this brilliant progressive metal release, which I am sure, will create quite a stir when it's release - don't miss out on one of the best progressive albums of 2006.

Recommended: Buy the album!
