Jim Peterik has been one of the biggest names on the Rock / AOR scene for the last forty years. He has delivered high-class music with Survivor, 38 Special, Ides of March and Pride of Lions and co-written songs with Sammy Hagar, John Wetton and Cheap Trick.

“Above the Storm” is the second solo album from Jim Peterik; the first one “Don’t Fight That Feeling” was released in 1976.

The music on “Above the Storm” is a mixture of Pride of Lions, Survivor and 38 Special. There are a couple of hard rocking tracks like “Live Life” and “Secrets of a Woman”, but most of the tracks are pure AOR.

Usually I’m not an AOR guy but after several spins I was hooked, “Stand and be Counted”, “Hiding from Yourself”, “Midnight in my Soul” and “We believe” are pure AOR magic.

If you are into the above mentioned bands or simply want a good Rock / AOR album, then check “Above the Storm” out.

Recommended tracks: “Live life”, “Stand and be Counted” and “Secrets of a Woman”.
