And Blood was Shed in Warsaw
Rating
Style: Death Metal
Release date: October 15th 2007

It is no secret that Death Metal band Vader from Poland belongs to my favourite bands... so I was more than pleased to receive this DVD for review. “And Blood was Shed in Warsaw” is the title and it features the footage from the band’s awesome concert at Stodola Club in February, 2007. The show was filmed with 7 cameras and Vader kick the living shit out of the audience with 20 songs. We get classic songs such as; “Silent Empire”, “Dark Age” and the fantastic “Blood of Kingu” and newer songs like; “Epitaph”, “Helleluyah!!! (God Is Dead)” and “Shadowfear”. The show ends with “Wyrocznia” and a guest appearance by Orion: a member of two other Polish Metal acts; Vesania and Behemoth. So Vader fans are in for a real treat here.

I have watched the show 7 or 8 times now... and I’m still very impressed with how tight they are. This is certainly no coincidence that Vader belongs to the top acts in Death Metal. They deserve it... that’s for sure. Yes... 20 songs filled with lots of energy and brutality... damn they must be in good shape.

The DVD also includes 2 video clips; “Helleluyah!!! (God Is Dead)” (From their latest CD “Impression in Blood”) and brand new clip “Sword of the Witcher” (Produced for the computer game “Wiedzmin” (“The Witcher”). Animated menu, interview with Peter (vocal, guitar), photo gallery, band history, discography, desktop images, web links and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound.

So, there’s no excuse for not buying this DVD if you’re a fan of Vader or Death Metal in general.

(“And Blood was Shed in Warsaw” DVD will also be available in a special DVD+CD limited swing case edition.)
