Well... this DVD is my first close encounter with this Polish Symphonic Black Metal band called DARZAMAT... but it won’t be my last, that’s for sure. I only knew them by name and I had almost no expectations to them when I first threw this DVD in my hard-tried DVD-player... but DAMN... was I in for a surprise or what?

This DVD entitled “Live Profanity (Visiting the Graves of Heretics)” starts with a superb performance from the Metalmania 2007 Festival. They really did took me by surprise with a very professionally filmed scene show and the sound is also top notch. The songs are great and I can only say that they really know their way around their instruments too.

I was captivated already at the first track “Intro/Labyrinth of Anxiety”, and surprised how well they mix pure Metal with Symphonic elements. Another great thing about DARZAMAT is the vocals. Male singer Flauros’ voice is aggressive and full og anger while female singer Nera surprise me with very beautiful Gothic vocals.

I can listen to their songs over and over again because I find them surprisingly good. I’m especially very fond of songs like; “The Burning Times”, “The Old Form of Worship” and “Vampire Rose”. But the rest of their set at the Metalmania 2007 Festival are also captivating.

This DVD comes with bonus material such as; Footage from DARZAMAT’S performance at Winternachtstraum Festival in 2007, 3 bonus video clips, a documentary, an interview with Flauros and Nera, photo gallery and wallpapers.

“Live Profanity (Visiting the Graves of Heretics)” is a must for every fan of DARZAMAT so go and get it now!
