When I first threw this brand new album from Contradiction in my hard-tried CD-player I was a little disappointed. Mostly because I find the riffs in the first track “Your God” too close to the riffs in Slayer’s “Angel of Death” and somehow the vocals from Oliver “Koffer” Lux annoyed me at first, but now several listens later I like this album a lot.

What we get here is 12 tracks of Thrash Metal in the same vein as bands like Slayer, Testament, Sepultura, Kreator and Exodus. In my humble opinion it needs a few spins in the CD-player to open up, but when it does, you’re in for a Metal-feast. Even though you can find sing-along choruses on “The Warchitect” the music is still Heavy, Thrashy and aggressive enough to melt iron. The vocals are aggressive and harsh, but audible and the tracks are memorable and will stick in your head for hours.

Just take a listen to track 5, “Shadowsoul”, the drums pounds away a rhythm that will make you head bang instantly and the chorus sticks like glue. But don’t forget the guitars… be sure of that Contradiction will kick you sorry little ass and make you head bang the entire time. OR… what about the track called “Thrash Metal”? Absolutely a killer track… the rhythms… the drums… the guitar-riffs… the chorus, everything seems to fits like a glove. One of the best Thrash Metal tracks I ever heard in my life… and I know a few Thrash songs, believe me, I do.

We even get a Motörhead cover here… “Rock ’n’ Roll”. Nice work here too. I could go on, but I don’t see the point. But I do see a point in you ordering this CD right away.

Damn… order 5 and give some away to your friends and let them discover a REAL Metal CD.

By the way, the production is first-class too; the music comes out pretty pressuring of your speakers…so better beware :)

First class Thrash attacks: Every single one.
