Axxis
has been around since the late eighties, and “Paradise
in Flames” is their ninth album. I
bought their debut album “Kingdom of the Night” back in 1989 and the
follow up “Axxis
II” in 1990, and then I lost track of the band until 2004 when they
released “Time
Machine” one of the best melodic metal albums of that year.
“Paradise
in Flames” kicks of right where “Time Machine” left us, strong
melodies, catchy choirs and the Axxis trademark, the vocals from the
only remaining founding member Bernhard Weiss.
The
biggest difference between “Time Machine” and “Paradise
in Flames” is the cooperation with female singer Lakonia, this gives
Axxis a new dimension. This
album is full of classic melodic metal, and “Paradise
in Flames” will please every Axxis
fan out there. The
limited edition digibook contains 2 additional tracks.
