In the late ‘70s Richie Zito was one of the most sought-after session guitarists in Los Angeles . In his career he has helped out and played with acts like; Art Garfunkel, Beach Boys, Tina Turner, Elton John, Mr. Big and Tyketto among others.

This album called “Avalon – The Richie Zito Project” is “his” project where he gathered some of the artists he had the pleasure to work with during his career, and to deliver a classic AOR release and his ultimate dream album.

12 tracks featuring names like; Joe Lynn Turner, Eddie Money, Eric Martin and Joseph Williams, to name a few. Yes… 12 tracks… but sadly 10 of them are quite boring in my opinion. Only “Blue Collar”, featuring Hugo Valenti (Valentine) and “Avalon”, featuring Danny Vaughn (Tyketto) is a pleasant surprise…the rest of them are boring Pop-ballads and boring AOR/Melodic Rock songs.

Even after numerous listens only the 2 songs mentioned above stands out.
