Frederic Slama, the french AOR-maestro, has done it again! Well, actually this is the first official release of his notorious 2000 private release, so it’s not really a new album. But anyway, he’s gathered the troops again and this time around a great mixture of AOR-stars frequent this release.

Steve Lukather, Tommy Denander, Michael Landau, Gregg Bissonette, Lenny Castro, Doug St. John, Jeff Porcaro and many others provide their talents on this allstar album.

It’s great for me to hear ”real” AOR released in 2006. Normally the 80’s AOR-pearls are hard to compete with but Frederic Slama has always had the potential to create that timewarp leading back to the golden decade of AOR!

The sound and style is similar to bands like DRIVE, SHE SAID, TOTO, AGENT and the softer AOR-acts in general. The best thing about AOR (the band!) is Frederic’s fine sense of dynamics, adding a very delicate touch of ”movement” in each song.

This is really one of the better AOR albums released this year. True to the roots of the genre and exposing a lot of ”stars” from the scene.

Who could ask for more?

Only letdown is the weak production which shines through on various songs.
