My first reaction to Abandoned’s debut album “Thrash Notes” was; - Kreator with an average production??? I must admit it took a few spins in my CD-player to get used to the production here on this release. What the hell were they thinking? A fine piece of old school Thrash, like this album, should have a way better production in my opinion.

Apart from the average production this album kills. 11 tracks of first class Thrash Metal with enough quality to wipe the floor with most Thrash releases out there. The music is old school Thrash, and I can’t help it… I’m thinking of Kreator every time I listen to this album.

Well… this album is packed with fantastic riffs of varied tempos with plenty of aggression and musical variation thrown into to improve on atmosphere. Tracks like “Return to One”, “Breed Machine”, “Demonic” and the fantastic “Take the Spell” blasts their way through your speakers and into your heart in no time… …of course you have to be a Thrash Metal freak like myself to swallow this, I think.

If you are a fan of good Thrash Metal with a nod towards SLAYER and KREATOR then look no further as this release will no doubt be lodged in your CD player so long you will start charging it rent!

This is my opinion of course but if you are into “catchy” Thrash do give this album a listen when it hit the stores like a bomb. Every single track is magnificent if you ask me. However, I could have wished for a better production.

This album could very well stay in my CD-player for a very, very long time.
