AMON AMARTH upload livesong off deluxe
re-issue of 'The Avenger'! |

After the successful re-issue of the AMON
AMARTH debut album 'Once Sent From The Golden
Hall' it's time to release the second re-issue of
the year. The second album in the discography of AMON
AMARTH is 'The Avenger' and the
2-disc-deluxe re-issue is set for release in Europe on May
22/25!
'The Avenger' will be released again as a
double-popup-digipak featuring two discs. Disc one features
the entire 'The Avenger' album remastered plus
the bonus track 'Thor Arise'!
Disc two features the live recording of the show AMON
AMARTH played on December 29, 2008 in Bochum, Germany
where they played the album in its entirety. The order of
songs is the same as on disc one (excluding 'Thor
Arise'). This reissue will be released as an
eight-sided double-digipak with individual pop-up. All four
pop-ups attached to each other show a special
three-dimensional pic. The reissue also features liner notes
by singer Johan Hegg.

band, CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED, inks deal
with Metal Blade Records!

Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the
signing of Richard Christy's new project,
CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED!
This newly formed outfit features some of
the most talented musicians in metal. Their
collective experience is colossal and their
musical pedigrees speak louder than any
verbal or written praise.

Christy comments:
"To be a part of the
Metal Blade family is such an honor. I've
been a fan of the label since I was an
eleven year old kid ordering Metal Massacre
cassettes through the mail. It's so amazing
to be label mates with some of my all time
favorite metal bands like Amon Amarth, King
Diamond, Mercyful Fate, Cannibal Corpse, and
Lizzy Borden, just to name a few! Brian
Slagel is a true metal legend and I'm
honored to be a part of his label. I'm
beyond excited to get back into the studio
and make some crushing Heavy Metal with my
friends!"

Walls of the Damned to the Metal Blade
Family. In addition to his duties on the
Howard Stern show, Richard has had a great
career in metal. He has put together a
really great new band with some of metal's
most talented artists and we can't wait to
have everyone hear it.”
In the Spring of 2009,
Richard Christy, former drummer for Death
and Iced Earth, finished writing the music
for a new project. The music for album began
to take shape roughly two years ago, after
several years of Richard being on a musical
hiatus. And though Richard is mostly known
for his drumming prowess, he has also
actively played guitar since 1992. The
project would come to be named
CHARRED WALLS
OF THE DAMNED.
Upon completing the music for the album in
2009, Richard began to put together his
dream band of musicians whom he considers to
be some of the best in the world. Included
in this musical collective is famed
producer, Jason Suecof. Suecof has produced
and/or mixed some of the most prominent
albums from metal's leading bands,
including: Trivium, All That Remains, Bury
Your Dead, August Burns Red, The Black
Dahlia Murder, Daath, Chimaira, DevilDriver,
God Forbid and many, many more. Richard and
Jason have been friends for over ten years
and wrote music together for years while
Richard resided in Florida. On vocals for
Charred Walls of the Damned will be none
other than legendary metal vocalist, Tim
"Ripper" Owens. Richard and Tim played
together in Iced Earth from 2003 to 2004.
Tim "Ripper" Owens' first and most well
known gig was with metal legends, Judas
Priest. He currently performs with Beyond
Fear and Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force. On
bass guitar for
CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED
will be one of metal's most heralded
bassists, Steve Digiorgio. Richard and Steve
played together in the bands Control Denied
and Iced Earth. DiGiorgio has also performed
with Death, Autopsy, Control Denied,
Testament, Vintersorg, Iced Earth, and is a
founding member of technical thrash
pioneers, Sadus. He is widely renowned for
his technical skills, and is one of the very
few bass players in the metal scene who
plays fretless bass.

GOD DETHRONED to tour the Balkan countries in June & July! |

It's June 28th 1914. Franz Ferdinand, heir to
the throne of Austria-Hungary and his wife visit Sarajevo,
capital of Austro - Hungarian province Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
A member of The Black Hand assassinates them
there when visiting a hospital. This action led to a chain
of events triggering World War I.
Exactly 95 years later, GOD DETHRONED will play
Sarajevo promoting their album ‘Passiondale’
(based on World War I). Leading the concept further beyond
the story on the album.
A whole tour on the Balkans is based around it, being the
start of a massive World tour in 2009.

Metal Blade Records announces signing of American Heavy
Metal act RAVAGE! |

Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce
the addition of Boston Massachusetts metallers RAVAGE
to its roster. The heavy metal band RAVAGE began as
the idea of two young brothers from Boston Massachusetts,
whom fans would come to know as Al Ravage and Eli Joe, who
wished to form a band that could bring bombastic heavy metal
back to prominence and crush the insipid alterna-grunge
music craze of the mid-90's. Though the barely-highschool
aged rockers had mighty ambitions when they played their
first gig in 1996, they quickly learned that Rome was not
built in a day, and RAVAGE had to work on honing
their sound and forging their way through the local
underground metal scene. Now in their early 20’s RAVAGE
is ready to show the metal world what they’re made of with
their Metal Blade debut ‘The End of Tomorrow’,
which will drop in the summer of 2009 and features cover art
by none other than Ed Repka (Megadeth, Death, Austrian Death
Machine).
"Everyone in the band is thrilled to have
the opportunity to have our music released by a record
company that is not only one of the greatest heavy metal
record labels ever, but also a label that is currently home
to many of our favorite bands (such as LIZZY BORDEN,
CANNIBAL CORPSE, KING DIAMOND, AMON AMARTH etc). Metal Blade
has released some of the classic metal albums of all time
and Ravage welcomes the opportunity to make our own mark on
the scene. Only Brian and Metal Blade had the guts to put
this deal together with a band that has never bowed to
trends or used gimmickry to fit in, a band that has always
forged ahead toward fresh musical ground in the face of
those who wanted us to become some sort of goofy retro-act
or clone of whatever was hip. So on behalf of the band, I'd
like to thank all the fans in the local scene, national
scene and abroad who have stuck by us thus far, the

UNEARTH announces co-headlining
European tour with Chimaira! |

UNEARTH
have just announced a co-headlining European
tour with Chimaira. Support comes from Throwdown and Daath.
"Co-headlining
Europe with our friends in Chimaira is going
to be a damn good time. To make matters better our long time
buds in Throwdown and Daath will also be in tow to round out
this epic bill. Good friends, good music, good times
combined with some of the best metal fans in the World is
sure to make for one hell of a tour. Get into it!",
said frontman Trevor Phipps.
The trek will mark UNEARTHs first trip
back to mainland Europe since November of 2008.
Phipps adds, "It's been a while since we have been in the
mainland, so we are stoked to get a longer headlining set
and really pummel through a bunch of songs. This is going to
be a damn good time."
