Interview with Inmoria (July 13th 2009)

Hi, first off all I just want to congratulate you with your debut album “Invisible Wounds”. Are you satisfied with it?

Thank you so much!!

As always when you have done something you always think that you could have change things here and there. But overall we are satisfied with the album, but we will do some small changes for the next album that’s for sure.

How did you get your name Inmoria... and what’s behind it?

I came up with the idea for the band name after I watched “The Lord of the Rings” for about the fiftieth time. When some of the characters was on their way to enter the dwarfs mine called “Moria” it just came to me. So all I had to do was to put “In” in the beginning and then Inmoria was born. The atmospheres in the mines are so dark and depressing so I thought that it would be perfect for Inmoria´s music. It means that the five of us are in that environment.

Is this the end of Tad Morose?

No no, Tad Morose is still active as a band and as a fact they are playing on the 9th of July at Rockwekeend, a big festival with bands like Testament, Edguy and Dimmu Borgir etc. They are right now writing new material, but they don’t have a record deal but we will see what happens in the future.

How would you describe your music to any of our readers who may not have heard of you before?

An incredible mix of dark and brooding music with haunting melodies which take you on an emotionally charged journey that will wrap its spindly fingers around your mind, subconsciously pulling you in a direction you may not want to go in, yet you cannot turn away from.

If you like hard and heavy riffs with “melodic” choruses…..then Inmoria is the right stuff for you. And also if you are a fan of Charles vocals you should defiantly listen to Inmoria.

Who has done the cover artwork to your album?

It is me who has done the coverart for the album together with a friend of mine who did the more technical stuff on the cover. I think that we got the whole “message” out threw that cover. A person trapped within herself, with just her suicidal thoughts as her only friend……..just like me, haha!!

How do you feel about the co-operation with your label?

So far it all works perfectly and we have nothing to complain about. We just want to thank them for believing in us and hopefully they will release more Inmoria albums because new songs are on the way, haha!!

What tasks presently lie ahead for Inmoria?

Well, right now we just rehearse encases some shows or even a tour turns up. That is what we really want to do, to tour our asses of. Besides that, I am writing new material for a second album. And so far I have about seventeen new tracks on the way so the writing progress takes up a lot of time as well.

Let's speculate - you have been granted a free slot on a tour of your own choice - who would be your ideal touring partners?

Hmmm, hard question since there are so many bands out there that we would like to tour with but if I have to say one particular I have to say Nightwish. I love their music and they tour worldwide….haha!!!

What albums or bands do you believe have had the greatest impact on the history of Metal?

Now you want me to say bands like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin but no chance in hell, Hahaha!! I have to say Savatage. We all love Savatage but we don’t understand why the hell they haven’t reached the absolute top after all these years. I mean, they are big but not as big as they should be and that is really a shame. And we have, believe it or not, been compared to Savatage and that is something huge for us in the band. And Charles voice is so alike the voice of Jon Oliva in Savatage so that is an advantage.

Looking ahead, where do you want to be five years from now?

Well I have promised our guitar player “Krunt” that he can quit his job and have the music as his only income so we better succeed fast as hell or otherwise I will get my ass kicked, haha!  But that is everybody’s dream, to work with music and make our money just doing what you do best and not to have any boring job that steals away your attention.

I thank you very much for participating in this interview and sharing this information and your thoughts with us - these last lines are entirely for you. Any final words you would like to round off with - a tip, a recommendation or a thought for the future?

Thank you, it was my pleasure!!!

All I want to say is that we hope that you like our music and hopefully we will see all of you out there somewhere on tour and have a beer……or two……or three…or…….haha!!

PEACE!!!!
