On the rack: Jörn from But We Try It

Wretched sinner, tell us about your latest deeds of evil and spite, "Dead Lights"!

Oh where I have to start?! We started the songwriting back in 2009. Waldemar Sorychta helped us out with the arrangements. In January 2010 we entered the almighty halls of Woodhouse and recorded all these tunes.

We all think "Dead Lights" is simply our idea of a modern metal album or simply the intersection of our musical tastes in the band. This is where thrash metal riffs, singing guitar solos and hardcore clash together. Lyrically, I do have two categories. One that deals with this miserable world, all its problems and abuses. On the other hand I write about my personal experiences and feelings. These lyrics are often more metaphorical.

You fiend! You intend to tour the world with this devilish noise, don't you?!

For this year our primary focus will be on playing a European tour and as many festivals and shows in general as we can. We recently started to work with the well known booking agency GoDownBelieving, which is very helpful.

I reckon you have many ungodly stories from your sinful tours. You might as well give us the worst story since we're preparing to fry you anyway!

We had a show in a small town called Remscheid and some of friends showed up because of the birthday of one of them. So they had a cartridge belt full of booze with them. And in one of the loops were a dildo. Later that night a totally drunk and wasted punk kid showed up and one of friends had the idea to offer him a beer if he sticks the dildo up his ass. What should I say, it was a well deserved beer... hahahahaha

Oh, you are indeed a wretch! If we had not caught you, what would you and your cohordes have done now? Recorded even more of your fiendish rattling?

Stefan works as a janitor at an industrial estate, Mark is self-employed as a web designer, Dominik studies, Tim has some occasional jobs and I work at a clothing store,

Like I said before this year we concentrate on touring and playing shows but Tim and Dom are collecting ideas for new songs as well. So that we can start writing new songs later this year.

Damnations! You are beyond redemption. Name the five musical pieces that you want to bring with you when we send you to hell!

Dominik: Symphony X - V
Tim: Arkangel - Dead Man Walking
Stefan: Pantera - Cowboys From Hell
Mark: Slayer - Hell Awaits
Jörn: Poison The Well - The Opposite of December

This Inquisition Symphony was conducted by the Power of Metal in February in the year of our Lord 2011.
