On the rack: Thanos from SHATTERED HOPE

Wretched sinner, tell us about your latest deeds of evil and spite, 'Absence'!

Thanos: Greetings! Finally, our debut album “Absence” is ready and will be released by the end of this year! We worked a lot on this stuff and spent many hours on recordings, mixing and master but finally we had a really nice result in my opinion!!! Absence is consisted of 7 tracks, six songs and an intermission with violins, cello and bass-fiddle. Doom death to funeral doom sounds. One song from our first demo, “A View Of Grief”, a little bit changed from its first version, and another from our second, “Promo 2007”, are part of Absence. The rest of the album is new material. The album was recorded and mixed in Athens but mastered in Belgium at CCR studios.

You fiend! You intend to tour the world with this devilish noise, don't you?!

Thanos: Of course we do!! We’d like to play in every single country of the world and spread our music everywhere!! Gigs are the first priority for the band!! At the moment we are back from a gig abroad, in Dublin where we were part of the second version of Dublin Doom Day!! A magnificent gig organized from some really cool people with a great line-up!! At the moment there are some plans for some more gigs but nothing confirmed yet.

I reckon you have many ungodly stories from your sinful tours. You might as well give us the worst story since we're preparing to fry you anyway!

Thanos: Actually not tours but specific lives abroad. Not something special except drunken stories…I guess you have heard many of them. We have shared the stage with many cool bands and met great people on the past. So this makes some really weird incidents.

Oh, you are indeed a wretch! If we had not caught you, what would you and your cohordes have done now? Recorded even more of your fiendish rattling?

Thanos: Actually not tours but specific lives abroad. Not something special except drunken stories…I guess you have heard many of them. We have shared the stage with many cool bands and met great people on the past. So this makes some really weird incidents.

Damnations! You are beyond redemption. Name the five musical pieces that you want to bring with you when we send you to hell!

Thanos: I’ll tell you the five records that I would take with me:
Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here
Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced?
Black Sabbath – Black Sabbath
My Dying Bride – Turn Loose The Swans
Mourning Beloveth – Dust

But the list is huge, from classic rock ‘til funeral doom. Thanks a lot for this interview!!
Cheers!!
