On the rack: Gary from Decayor

Wretched sinner, tell us about your latest deeds of evil and spite, "Recurring Times Of Grief"!

Well it’s a 4 track EP that we wrote and recorded over the winter of 08/09 in our bass player’s (Kevin) home studio.
We spent a few weeks jamming out different riffs and chopping/changing parts until we were all satisfied before recording.
After that we had a lot of beer and got down to sorting out the duplication etc.
The EP was then released April 25th 2009, where we launched it at the Full Metal Racket gig in Belfast, where we supported Rotting Christ and Paradise Lost.
The tracks themselves have been branded in different reviews as being depressive, moody and with an air of melancholy, which for us, as fans of doom metal we look for in our own
favorite death/doom bands.

If you are curious to check it out and judge this for yourself the whole EP has recently been uploaded to our Myspace page
www.myspace.com/decayordie.

You fiend! You intend to tour the world with this devilish noise, don't you?!

We have actually toured this release to death in our home country, which was great!
We’ve had the chance to support bands like, Pagan Altar, Hail Of Bullets, The Prophecy and Grand Magus, which was a great opportunity to promote the release.
But now it’s time for a new release, so we are currently writing for our first full length.
Hopefully next time around we’ll get abroad for a tour.

It’s definitely something we want to do. If you book us, we’ll play!

I reckon you have many ungodly stories from your sinful tours. You might as well give us the worst story since we're preparing to fry you anyway!

The last gig we played was Cork Winterfest in December.
It was a 2day festival in which we traveled 10hours in a bus to get to, so we really needed a drink after all that, so the first stop was the pub!
The weekend went great with some funny things happening throughout, like a random fiddle player serenading us playing the Knightrider theme song in the smoking area/fire escape stairwell.
Some Irish promoter who will remain unnamed let off the fire alarm, which resulted in the partying ending prematurely.
Though by far the worst part of the weekend was when I got so drunk I got locked in the toilet in our room and the lads went and informed everyone apart from the staff that could actually help me get out. So I was there nearly an hour before somebody came to get me out.

The 10hour journey back was horrible! All self inflicted though.

Oh, you are indeed a wretch! If we had not caught you, what would you and your cohordes have done now? Recorded even more of your fiendish rattling?

Yeah, we’ve just got a DVD made from our performance at Winterfest, so we are currently getting that sorted for a special deal with the next release.
Our first batch of new merchandise is also en route, so we are pretty busy as usual with band related business.
We’re just taking time out from gigging at the moment for a few months to write the release, as to not rush anything.

Hopefully you’ll hear it later in the year.

Damnations! You are beyond redemption. Name the five musical pieces that you want to bring with you when we send you to hell!

Warning – Watching From A Distance
Grand Magus – Iron Will
Opeth – Still Life
My Dying Bride – Turn Loose The Swans
Griftegard – Solemn, Sacred, Severe

This Inquisition Symphony was conducted by the Power of Metal in February in the year of our Lord 2010.
