On the rack: Hagel (dr.) from NIGHTLIGHT | |
Wretched sinner, tell us about your latest deeds of evil and spite, 'Fuenral of Love'! |
Hagel: The Deeds of Nightlight should be narrowed down to the words passion, darkness, light and stains of red wine. Our opus Funeral of Love is a melting pot of these terms – but not necessarily in the mentioned order. We recorded Funeral of Love in the caves of Tårnby, Denmark, only disturbed by Magic, white winters and black brains (and background noise from the depth of hell). After the recordings we went to the hollow depths of Horsens, where the wizard of darkness Tommy “Helloween” Hansen shaped and cleansed the product. |
| You fiend! You intend to tour the world with this devilish noise, don't you?! |
| Hagel: We do intend to tour, but our surroundings wouldn’t be ready for such a shattering and breathtaking amendment to their daily lives. We seek to find single places of decadent darkness to fulfill the hunger of our most self-indulgent followers. |
| I reckon you have many ungodly stories from your sinful tours. You might as well give us the worst story since we're preparing to fry you anyway! |
| Hagel: I suppose besides fulfilling our greedy and untamable lust with more or less organic stimulus, that the worst scenario was when we supported Leaves Eyes, and the concert had to be postponed because the soundchecks fell into infinity. When the doors opened we were still having soundchecks. It was horrific terror to the minds of innocent vampires – creatures of the night also have feelings. |
| Oh, you are indeed a wretch! If we had not caught you, what would you and your cohordes have done now? Recorded even more of your fiendish rattling? |
| Hagel: We could have done some recordings, but the next time the darkness of our lives will prolong this process of pain and greif. You should be careful with the axe, too much blood and innocent lives could be wasted if you do not take care of your black souls. You should be aware that you do the right things for the right reason, and this time around our only reason to play is to terrorize the minds and hearts of our incredible disciples of passion, nothing more could satisfy us at the moment. But I pledge that someday you will see another blackened piece of devilish noise, created in the twilight at days in conjunction of fear and hope, life and death, night and light… |
| Damnations! You are beyond redemption. Name the five musical pieces that you want to bring with you when we send you to hell! |
| Hagel: I suppose something that makes me want to return to life again. Tough one but here you go, in random order: Dream Theater – Scenes from a Memory, Pain of Salvation – The Perfect Element pt.1, Type O Negative – October Rust, Pink Floyd – The Wall, Mercenary – 11 Dreams. | |
