On the rack: Rick from Martyr
| |
Wretched sinner, tell us about your latest deeds of evil and spite, ‘Fear the Universe'
Martyr – We officially released 'Fear the Universe' on February 20th 2009. It is a double digipack combining our latest release 'Fear' containing 5 brand new tracks and a second reissue of our cult classic metal album 'For the Universe' . Listening to 'Fear' you will notice that after 20 years the clan is back! It is Martyr with a modern twist to their classic 80's metal, which was so highly appreciated back in the 80's. The album is out on Rusty Cage Records.

| You fiend! You intend to tour the world with this devilish noise, don't you?!
Martyr – Sure, let's rock this wicked and degenerated world. Starting our Dutch tour after the release and re-conquering Europe this summer!
| I reckon you have many ungodly stories from your sinful tours. You might as well give us the worst story since we're preparing to fry you anyway!
Martyr – Ok then. This is a bad story, really. I reckon it was back in '85 or something like that. We suddenly had to replace the Belgian Metal band Killer at a venue called De Nieuwe Pul, Uden, Holland. Killer was sort a Motorhead-ish band, with a lot of biker fans. When we entered the stage the crowd seemed to notice Killer was not playing that night. We had a hard time enjoying the crowd. Although it seemed that the bikers-wives digged it a lot. After the show our former singer Gerard Vergouw could not be found anywhere. I seemed he was fucking one of their chicks in his car, and the Belgian bikers all were looking for her. When they noticed she had to be with Gerard, he was a prey for them. They were on the hunt. Running for his life he locked himself up in the bathroom and he just did not dare to get out for hours! Whe we finally released him, he stated: "I couldn't help it being raped!" He probably was right, she weighted about 120 kilo's hehehehe!
| Oh, you are indeed a wretch! If we had not caught you, what would you and your cohordes have done now? Recorded even more of your fiendish rattling?
Martyr– Yeah I reckon. And we will be writing more rattling very soon! It is time for the world to rediscover Martyr, now we are back on the world metal map. So you'll bet, this 'Fear the Unicerse' release is only our rebirth. So guess what happens when we grow up again, hahaha.

| Damnations! You are beyond redemption. Name the five musical pieces that you want to bring with you when we send you to hell!
